Summer Heat and Simple Joys
It’s been *hot, hot, hot* this summer. Honestly, it feels like life in Fort Worth—flies everywhere, jumbo-sized mosquitoes with drills for noses, and, did I mention, it’s *hot*?
Despite the heat, we had hamburgers and hot dogs, which lifted spirits. The commissary also released Reese’s Pieces, one of my favorites—small joys that go a long way here.
I’m now more than halfway through diesel mechanic class. I can change a tire and oil confidently, which, by the way, are two of the most important things you can do to help your vehicle last well past 300,000 miles.

Books Corner
My sister sent me *Wind and Truth*, all 1300 pages of pure awesomeness. I’ve lost count of how many books I’ve read this year, but I keep a journal for book reviews and average about a book a week. Reading remains one of the best escapes and growth tools here.

Devotional: 100 Percent
"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."(Jeremiah 29:13)
Nothing about this verse suggests that *less than 100%* will do. Someone might argue that nothing more than 100% is needed (a topic for another day), but today, let’s focus on the *ALL* in this verse.
It takes 100% to find God—and I believe it also takes 100% in our daily lives, especially during a comeback journey.
Recently, I met someone holding back, and I asked, “Why not give 100%?” Their reply was, “If I don’t get it today, I want to have some left over for tomorrow.” Let me be clear: If 99% doesn’t get it today, that leftover 1% isn’t going to get it tomorrow.
They countered, “What if I give 100% and don’t make it?”
My response: When we give our all, we become empty vessels for God to fill again.
Give your comeback your ALL, each and every day.
100 percenter! Love it.
